How we stay independent

How we compare and rank Turkish dental clinics, how we keep the process independent, who reviews our clinical content, and how you can reproduce or challenge our conclusions.

Last reviewed: June 2026 · Clinical accuracy reviewed by GDC-registered UK dentists (verifiable at olr.gdc-uk.org).

The core promise

We rank on complaints, not praise

We rank clinics on the observed burden of evidence-supported complaints, not on the volume of positive reviews. Low visibility is not automatically low risk. Positive reviews, star averages, social following, SEO and ad-spend earn a clinic zero ranking points.

How clinics are scored

Eight weighted categories

A clinic's composite score is the sum of eight weighted categories, minus any integrity penalties. Complaint & safety carries the most weight (35 of 100) by design. The full formulas — severity bands, credibility, recency, pattern multipliers and the confidence grade — are set out in the ranking methodology.

35
Complaint & safety record
The observed burden of evidence-supported complaints — severity, credibility, recency and pattern. The single largest category.
15
Information transparency
Named dentists, published services, real contact details, an English site and a verifiable address.
10
Price transparency
Published prices or price ranges for the main treatments — not quote-only.
10
Licensing & credentials
A checkable Ministry-of-Health authorisation and published dentist licence numbers.
10
Medical infrastructure
Documented imaging, implantology, oral surgery and international-patient handling.
10
Reputation & reviews
Bayesian-adjusted rating, review volume, recency and whether the clinic responds — not raw star averages.
5
Communication & access
English-speaking support, pre-visit consultation and a usable contact channel.
5
AI & search visibility
Whether the clinic is discoverable, indexed and structured for search and AI assistants.

Because the weights and rubric are published, anyone applying the same method to the same evidence reaches the same result.

Independence

Our principles

  • Independent & standard. Every clinic is judged on the same criteria. No clinic — including Taki Dent — can pay for placement, a higher ranking or a more favourable review. We do not sell patient leads or take booking fees.
  • Strengths and weaknesses together. Each clinic is shown with genuine strengths and the real concerns raised in its reviews, and we name where a competitor may suit a patient better.
  • Evidence before conclusion. Each material claim links to something you can check — a register entry, an authorisation number, or the actual reviews.
  • Careful language. We never call a clinic "best", "most trusted" or "guaranteed". We do not use "fraud", "negligence" or "malpractice" without an official or court finding — we write "patient reported" or "evidence indicates" instead.
Ownership & conflict of interest

Who runs this, and what we disclose

Top Dental Clinics Turkey is an independent comparison and information platform operated by ITEXPERT24 LTD (United Kingdom). We are not a clinic and not a government authority.

Our reviewers and editors are not employed by, and hold no financial stake in, any clinic they assess — including Taki Dent. No clinic pays for placement or ranking. Where any relevant relationship exists, it is disclosed on the page in question.

Process

How content is produced & reviewed

The editorial team drafts from primary sources → a GDC-registered UK dentist checks clinical accuracy (and signs off on any S3/S4 severity judgement) → editorial review checks scoring against the rubric and sources every competitor claim → we publish with a "last reviewed" date and re-check periodically. See our editorial team & review panel.

Accountability

Corrections, appeals & scrutiny

We correct mistakes openly and on the record — see corrections & right of reply. Clinics may appeal a score or fact with documentary evidence (an authorisation number, published guarantee terms, or a platform ruling on flagged reviews); we re-score against the same rubric. A clinic is contacted for right of reply before a complaint is scored against it.

Because the criteria, weights and rubric are public, any independent academic, clinician or journalist can reproduce and challenge our ranking without our involvement, and we welcome that scrutiny.

What we check against

The Turkish Ministry of Health health-tourism register, the GDC, NICE, PubMed, the EAO and EFP, and each clinic's verified public reviews. Methodology change log: v1.1 — effective 13 July 2026 (current complaint-first methodology; supersedes v1.0).
